Housing Accidentally Gives All Rising-Sophomore Dorm Rooms to G.W. Students

CAMPUS — The University’s Department of Student Housing begrudgingly acknowledged today that it had mistakenly allowed students at George Washington University yesterday to claim all residence hall rooms meant to be chosen by the Class of 2012 this weekend. “We’re not exactly sure how we managed to allow a list of people clearly marked as G.W. students to pick those rooms and to do so a week before housing selection was supposed to occur, and we’re sure a few rising sophomores will be upset with this decision,” said Vice President for Facilities and Student Housing Karen Frank in an e-mail accompanied by a vacation message that said she was in Puerto Rico for three weeks but not to tell anybody else in the administration about it. “The important thing is that we got this annoying housing selection thing done and can move on to the mistakes we will make in housing the Class of 2013 this summer.” FEMA has announced plans to provide shelter for rising sophomores in a giant tent on an abandoned soccer field near Baltimore for the 2009-2010 school year.
